Getting Buggy
Sunday, October 13; Noon – 1:30 p.m.

Are all bugs insects? Is a spider an insect? Join us as we take a short nature walk and learn the difference between insects, arachnids, and some of the other critters we call “bugs.” Children will also build their own bug craft.

Colors Of Nature
Saturday November 2; 1:30- 3:00 p.m.

Autumn’s brilliant colors are on display at Sherwood-Jayne. Join us for a walk as we learn how and why nature produces such a show and how different wildlife experience it. We’ll also experiment with dyes from natural materials.

Family Autumn Night Hike
Saturday November 9; 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Sherwood-Jayne farm, East Setauket
We’ll use our owl eyes to see, fox walk to sneak, and deer ears to hear. Learning about the senses of the night and practicing how different animals function at night will allow us to experience the outdoors in a new and exciting light.

Autumn Trees

Join us as we enjoy autumn colors, we will find out how nature uses these colors and who sees which ones. We will experiment with dyes from natural materials.

Autumn Family Scavenger Hunt
Sunday, November 17; 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.
Sherwood Jayne Farm, Setauket
Let’s go out and learn about nature while having a little fun! With list in hand we’ll head out onto the trails and see what wildlife we can spot. The person with the most sightings will get a small prize!
