Winter Tree Workshop

Learn to identify trees in their winter form. We’ll start with an indoor workshop then hike around Seatuck to hone our id skills.

The Colors of Winter

Winter can be dreary, but if you look carefully the woods are still filled with surprising color. Join us as we explore the new trails and enjoy the hidden hues of winter.

Winter Animal Tracks

No matter what the weather, animals leave fascinating clues behind. Join us as we use the basic questions of tracking to read the stories written on the ground.

Winter Family Scavenger Hunt

Get your thinking caps on! By using the clues provided, we’ll head out onto the trails and try to fill in the blanks with nature.

Creating Fairy Houses

Even fairies need homes, right? Come help us build imaginative fairy houses around the property with sticks, stones and other natural materials we find. Who knows what else we’ll see along the way!

Exploring Trees

Trees are getting ready to awaken from a winter’s slumber. Join Seatuck for a hike on the new trails as we explore the woodland’s trees and search for budding leaves.

Family Senses Night Hike
Saturday, April 11; 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Ready to use your owl eyes, your fox walk, and your deer ears? Gain a whole new appreciation for the night as we learn about and mimic how different animals function in the dark.

Home for the Animals
Saturday, May 16; 12:00 – 1:30 p.m.

It’s nesting season! How do animals build nests and dens? Where do they build them? We’ll try our hand at imitating their work and then go exploring for animal homes along the trails.

Spring Wildflowers

Explore the blooming wildflowers of spring! We’ll talk about where they were all winter, what triggers their return, and who depends on them for survival.

Sheep Shearing Festival

Enjoy this special day of programs at Sherwood Jayne, including nature hikes, spinning, quilting, & knitting demonstrations, kid’s crafts, guided tours of the historic house, music and refreshments.
