Preservation Awards

SPLIA’s awards recognize and encourage standards of excellence in several fields. Its Preservation Awards are presented in alternating years to honor individuals, organizations, and projects that demonstrate outstanding achievement in certain aspects of historic preservation such as stewardship, restoration, design, advocacy, and partnership. The Society’s Howard Sherwood Award, named for our founder, is reserved for individuals who demonstrate exceptional achievement in preservation, while the Huyler C. Held Award distinguishes excellence in the publication of Long Island history, architecture, and the decorative arts.
