Publications

SPLIA’s publication program fosters greater understanding and appreciation of salient aspects of Long Island’s cultural heritage. With the development of studies and catalogues, the Society provides an opportunity to explore broad themes in regional history through a variety of subjects including architecture, design, and decorative arts. Recent titles include Long Island Landscapes and the Women Who Designed Them by Cynthia Zaitzevsky, Harbor Hill: Portrait of a House by Richard Guy Wilson, and Caroline Rob Zaleski’s Long Island Modernism 1930-1980.

The Society’s newsletter, PRESERVATION NOTES, addresses current preservation initiatives throughout Long Island, while its SPLIA REPORTS provide insight into developing issues and important historic sites. Copies of recent reports, as well as back issues of Preservation Notes are available for download.
